Happy 2009!

Can you believe that 2008 is gone? Now it's 2009! This post is to sum up the end of 2008 and tell about the beginning of 2009.

Monday Anna went to the dentist because of a large bump on her lip. It had been there for several weeks. It would get smaller and then swell up again. The dentist removed it and put in two stitches. Anna returned Wednesday to get the stitches out but one came out during the night Monday. We guess she swallowed it. The dentist did send off the "gland" that was removed but doesn't think it is anything of concern. Here is Anna showing off her black stitches. She was such a brave girl about the whole thing!
Wednesday we attended worship service and then had our friends, the Murrays, over to celebrate New Year's Eve. It appeared that everyone had a great time. I can't think of a better way to end the year than with good friends. No, the Murrays didn't stay until midnight! When you have small children that just isn't possible. They were able to stay until after 10:00. We couldn't believe that Mason, Nathan & Macie were still going at that time! Anna & Katelyn were still going strong too!! As soon as the Murrays were gone, Anna and Mason were in bed fast asleep in record time. Kevin & I actually stayed up until midnight. But we were in bed by 12:05. So we just barely rang in the new year! Here are some pictures from our wild night!!
Anna & Katelyn changed outfits several times. In this one they don't even look like themselves! Yes, they were signing to either Hannah Montana or Taylor Swift!!

Anna had one of her CDs playing LOUD. Mason was dancing, Nathan was riding the 4-wheeler and Macie was getting on the car & looking at Mason like he's crazy.

Mason & Macie rode the pony together. They make such a cute couple with their little red heads!

New Year's Day I actually got to go shopping...alone. I was gone about 6 hours while Kevin and the kids stayed home. Kevin decided to go out to eat for supper (think he had cabin fever). We ate at Whiskey Creek. That was our first time to eat there. It was okay but nothing special to us (way over-priced). Anna enjoyed the peanuts. Afterward we made a trip to Wal-Mart. On our way home Kevin commented that he hoped the rest of 2009 didn't go the way the first day went- me shopping all day, eating too expensive steak and going to Wal-Mart! I don't see a problem with that and think that would make for a great year! :o)

Friday I took Mason to the doctor. About 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning he started coughing to the point he couldn't sleep. There weren't any doctors open on Thursday (New Year's Day). But he actually seemed better Thursday. Friday morning he was coughing a lot again and sounded rattly in his chest. History would show that this is a time that someone would get sick since we are about to leave town. Dr. Sneed said his tonsils are swollen really bad and his throat is really red. Guess this explains why Wednesday night he started spitting his food out. Dr. Sneed said there was very little room between his tonsils to get food down. She gave him an antibiotic and steroid. It concerns me because he had this same problem and solution only 2 1/2- 3 weeks ago. I pray he doesn't end up needing his tonsils out. But as Dr. Sneed said, Anna had huge tonsils that ended up coming out last year and Mason seems to follow in Anna footsteps (reflux, allergies, etc).

Today we've hung out at home, went to Jonesboro to run a few errands and are preparing for our big week. Next post should have lots of fun (I hope) to report.

I hope you have a great time on your trip. I'll say a little pray that all goes well. I also pray that Mason gets well soon. We're all fighting it at our house too. Can't wait to read your next blog!
