Birthday #32

This week (Monday) started with me turning another year older...32 . It sure beats the alternative of not having a birthday! I received my birthday gift, Lasik surgery, the previous Monday. I'm happy to say my vision is perfect! My eyes are still a little red but getting better every day. Very red eyes definitely make a great conversation piece. I've had the opportunity to speak to lots of strangers due to my red eyes. Everyone wants to know "what happened???" It is absolutely amazing to wake up every morning and be able to see without glasses or contacts. I'm so thankful for my birthday gift of seeing! (And for the other gifts that I wasn't supposed to get.)

I'm happy to say that other than turning another year older, this week was fairly routine. Not to jinx it, but we actually made it through a week without sickness, doctor visits, or any other problems. It felt good! I guess we celebrated Friday evening by going out on the town. We intended to eat at Chuck E Cheese's (Anna's choice) but there was a line out the door waiting to get in. We weren't about to stand in the cold wind to get into Chuck E Cheese's. Anna then chose TaMolly's. They were closed due to the oven not working. We finally went to Crackies (a.k.a. Cracker Barrel). Although there was a wait, at least we were inside and there were toys to entertain the kids. After eating we went to the mall and let the kids play on the playground. We ran into the Sowell family so Anna & Mason had fun playing with their kids. We were at the mall until after 8:30. The kids were tired and exhausted when we left. By the time we got home and got baths, they were both ready for bed (and slept until 8:30 this morning!!!).

Today we are just hanging out waiting for it to snow. I've got a roast in the crockpot and we are staying warm. Tonight feels like a hot chocolate night. Anna is so excited that they are saying it may snow. I'd love for it to snow enough to build a snowman and go sleding. Last year Kevin pulled Anna behind the 4-wheeler on a sled. She had so much fun and really wants to do it again. Right now it is sleeting so maybe snow will follow soon. Just no freezing rain please!
